Bio

The great Puritan theologian William Ames began his seminal text, The Marrow of Theology, with these words: Theology is the doctrine or teaching of living to God. Ames knew well that is the Christian’s high calling, to love God with the hearts and their minds. Theology serves both of those ends.

With Ames, it is my heartfelt desire to see all Christians develop a passion for loving their God with all their heart, soul, mind and strength. It is my prayer that God will use this website and my ministry to that end and for His glory.

Having earned my doctorate in historic theology from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, I now serve as Assistant Professor of Religion and Church History at Charleston Southern University. By God’s grace I have had several articles published and am a frequent participant at history and theological conferences. In addition to my academic pursuits, I have eight years of pastoral experience and many more in various ministries within the church.
